Online safety

Staying safe when using technology is of the utmost importance. Online safety is a key focus throughout the year, with children being regularly taught the procedures in place to ensure their safety while navigating the digital world. We strive to empower our pupils to confidently and independently use information technology to enhance and extend their learning. Our goal is to foster a culture where using technology becomes second nature, preparing students to embrace the technological advancements of the future.

From the moment children join the Foundation Stage, they are introduced to computers and other technology. They engage in activities such as playing educational games, listening to stories, and exploring programs designed to support their early learning. During this time, they are taught how to use equipment and programs safely and responsibly.

As pupils progress through school, they build essential online safety skills that will serve them throughout their lives. They learn to research effectively, analyse data, and engage with simple programming, design, control, and animation tools. These experiences help develop independence and technical proficiency. Through a broad and enriching ICT curriculum, children gain a solid foundation in information technology, allowing them to grow as confident, independent, and innovative learners.
