Our Nursery may be home to some of the smallest members of our school family, but we know that these important early years can make a big difference to a child's educational journey.
We recognise what a privilege it is to be trusted with your child during these precious early years. Our aim is to provide a happy, nurturing and engaging environment where every child feels safe, valued and excited to learn.
Learning in Our Nursery
Our Nursery curriculum is designed to inspire children's curiosity and give them strong foundations for future learning.
We use engaging themes, high-quality books and questions for children to explore. Our curriculum supports children in developing the knowledge and skills set out within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Framework.
We review our curriculum regularly so that learning can reflect the needs and interests of each group of children, ensuring that their experiences are purposeful, relevant and exciting.
Children are encouraged to:
- Ask questions and explore their ideas
- Develop independence and confidence
- Learn through purposeful play
- Build positive relationships
- Explore, investigate and be curious
- Listen to and enjoy stories
- Sing and learn nursery rhymes
- Develop early knowledge and skills that prepare them for the next stages of their learning
Communication and Language
Developing children's communication and language is an important part of everything we do.
Throughout each Nursery session, children have lots of opportunities to talk, listen and communicate with adults and other children.
Our provision includes:
- Daily speaking and listening activities
- Regular story times
- Singing and learning our core Nursery rhymes
- Conversations with adults and friends
- Opportunities to develop new vocabulary
- Working with adults, alongside friends and independently
Chatter Time
Each week, we share a 'Chatter Time' home activity to help families support children's language development.
Families receive topic-related photographs and pictures to use as starting points for conversations at home. This provides a lovely opportunity for children to talk about their learning with their families and develop confidence in expressing their ideas.
We also encourage children to think of questions they would like to explore. Where appropriate, these ideas become part of our weekly learning, helping children to recognise that their thoughts, interests and questions matter.
Our Nursery Sessions
We offer flexible Nursery sessions to support the different needs of our families.
Children can attend morning sessions, afternoon sessions, full days or a combination of sessions.
Morning session
8:45am to 11:45am
Afternoon session
12:15pm to 3:15pm
Full day
8:45am to 3:15pm
A full day consists of six hours of funded education plus a half-hour lunch period.

Lunchtime
Children staying with us for a full day can have a hot school lunch, currently charged at £3.25 per day.
Families can speak to the school office if they need more information about lunchtime arrangements.
Extra Experiences
Throughout the year, we may also provide additional experiences for our Nursery children, such as puppet shows and animal displays in school.
There may occasionally be a small voluntary contribution requested towards these additional activities.
Wraparound Care
We understand that flexible childcare is particularly important for working families.
Nursery children may also be able to access our affordable wraparound care, subject to the number of EYFS places available.
Breakfast Club
7:30am to 8:45am
£4.50 per child
After School Club
Available after the school day for up to two hours
£4.50 per hour, per child
Places for children in Nursery and Reception are limited because we must maintain the required adult-to-child ratios within our EYFS provision, so please speak to the school office about availability.
Funded Childcare
Families may be entitled to funded childcare.

Once you have received your eligibility code, please bring it to the school office so that we can arrange your child's place.
Nursery places are allocated on a first come, first served basis.
