Meet our committed team of governors......
Peter Wood - Chair of Governors
Governor Specialism - Finance, Performance Management, Prior Higher Achievers, Science, Garden Area, Curriculum and Assessment.
My name is Peter Wood and I have been a Governor for approximately 16 years, the last 15 as the Chair of Governors. I originally began working as a Governor because my daughter, Emma, was attending our school and I felt I could help in her education by being more involved. When she left to go to big school I decided to continue as Chair as I have always enjoyed being a part of the school's success. I have in the past (pre-covid) helped year 6 children with their reading and maths which I found very rewarding.
Sarah Tew - Executive Head Teacher
Governor Specialism - All
I became head teacher at Loscoe Church of England Primary in 2011. Before that I was a head teacher in a small village school, Kirk Langley, also in Derbyshire. I have also worked for the local authority as a literacy consultant which was a very privileged job. The time has flown by since I joined the Loscoe team! I think this is because I love the school: the children, the staff and the community. There is always something happening and we are always trying to make ourselves the best we can be. Staff and governors are so proud of our school and really believe that ‘we may be small but we can make a difference’. We make a difference to ourselves, each other, our families, our communities and the wider world. We are an amazing school family!
Mr Wood has been the Chair of Governors since I started and Mrs Giles was also a governor too. They both interviewed me in 2011. They are a huge support to our school and I am very grateful that they have been governors.
In 2017 I also started working at another Derbyshire Church School, St Laurence Primary in Long Eaton, Derbyshire. We learn a lot from each other and share many ideas.

I am proud to say that I have two boys who attend the school and who benefit from the support, nurture and academic enrichment that the school provides.
As well as enjoying family life I have a keen interest in photography, gardening, cycling and walking.
I became co-opted governor in April 2018 whereby my knowledge in play helped support the provision of the new and improved trim trail.
I understand the importance of an active and healthy lifestyle and currently specialise in Sports and PE. I believe the school along with the school's sports partnership offers an excellent range of sporting opportunities to all of our children.

My name is Emma Wells and I joined the school as a parent governor in April 2020. I have a son and daughter at Loscoe School, and felt the time was right to take a more pro active role in the school. It's really vital that parents views are represented in school, but also that as parents we support the school in upholding their values and vision.
