I joined the school Governing body as a Parent Governor in September 2020 and was made Chair of Governors in July 2022 when our long standing Chair of 17 years retired. I am proud to say I have 2 children who both attend Loscoe C of E Primary and Nursery School, my son is in year 6 and my daughter is in Year 1, both Children love the school and feel part of the school community. When I joined the Governing body I felt it was a good time to give something back to the school and with my experience and interest in Learning and Development take a more pro active role in the school community.
After spending nearly 2 years as Parent Governor I have taken on the role of Chair of Governors and enjoy working with the school staff and team of Governors, we have a team who want to do their best for our school children and the community we are in. My background in Learning and Development, where I have spent many years providing training and coaching to adults in Leadership roles enables me to support the school and staff in being the best it can be. I have a passion for empowering people and bring this approach to my role as Chair of Governors where I will support the school values and vision, knowing that together we can make a difference.
Sarah Tew - Executive Head Teacher
Governor Specialism - All
I became head teacher at Loscoe Church of England Primary in 2011. Before that I was a head teacher in a small village school, Kirk Langley, also in Derbyshire. I have also worked for the local authority as a literacy consultant which was a very privileged job. The time has flown by since I joined the Loscoe team! I think this is because I love the school: the children, the staff and the community. There is always something happening and we are always trying to make ourselves the best we can be. Staff and governors are so proud of our school and really believe that ‘we may be small but we can make a difference’. We make a difference to ourselves, each other, our families, our communities and the wider world. We are an amazing school family!
Mr Wood has been the Chair of Governors since I started and Mrs Giles was also a governor too. They both interviewed me in 2011. They are a huge support to our school and I am very grateful that they have been governors.
In 2017 I also started working at another Derbyshire Church School, St Laurence Primary in Long Eaton, Derbyshire. We learn a lot from each other and share many ideas.

I first became a school governor in 2000, and am now Vice Chair of Governors. I became a Foundation Governor in 2015. During my long association with the school I have come to care greatly about the school, the staff and the children.
As a Foundation Governor I am helping to support the Christian ethos of the school and am helping to strengthen the bond between Loscoe Primary School and Nursery and St Luke's Church.

Tina Wright
Governor Specialism - SEND, Finance, Attendance and Extra-curricular and enhancement
I first became aware of Loscoe C of E Primary School when I needed to move 3 of my grandchildren to a School in the area, of all the schools I visited Loscoe immediately stood out due to the welcome we received, not only from the staff but more importantly, the children. I am delighted that all three children have thrived during their time at the school.
I am a new governor looking forward to joining the experienced team at Loscoe C of E Primary School. The positivity that emanates from the staff and pupils made me want to give something back, which hopefully I can do during my time as a governor.

Liz Coope
Governor Specialism -
Hello, my name is Liz Coope and I came to Loscoe C of E back in the summer term of 2022 where I joined year one as a part time teacher. Before my time here for over a decade, I have taught within most year groups, at Long Row Primary School in Belper. Predominantly I taught in key stage one and early years, which I loved. Moving school was never something I took lightly but living in the area and having two boys attending Loscoe school, meant that I got to see and hear about all the wonderful things that were happening. With this, I wanted a piece of it and lucky me, here I am!
As both teacher and parent, I am pleased to be appointed as staff governor where I can contribute and help ensure that all of our children continue to gain a broad range of childhood experiences.
