Meet our committed team of governors......
Peter Wood - Chair of Governors
Governor Specialism - Finance, Performance Management and Standards Committee, Numeracy, Prior Higher Achievers and Assessment.
My name is Peter Wood and I have been a Governor for approximately 12 years, the last 11 as the Chair of Governors. I originally began working as a Governor because my daughter, Emma, was at Loscoe School and I felt I could help in her education by being involved with the school. I have been helping year 6 children with their reading and math which I find very rewarding.
Sarah Tew - Executive Head Teacher
Governor Specialism - All
I became head teacher at Loscoe Church of England Primary in 2011. Before that I was a head teacher in a small village school, Kirk Langley, also in Derbyshire. I have also worked for the local authority as a literacy consultant which was a very privileged job. The time has flown by since I joined the Loscoe team! I think this is because I love the school: the children, the staff and the community. There is always something happening and we are always trying to make ourselves the best we can be. Staff and governors are so proud of our school and really believe that ‘we may be small but we can make a difference’. We make a difference to ourselves, each other, our families, our communities and the wider world. We are an amazing school family!
Mr Wood has been the Chair of Governors since I started and Mrs Giles was also a governor too. They both interviewed me in 2011. They are a huge support to our school and I am very grateful that they have been governors.
In 2017 I also started working at another Derbyshire Church School, St Laurence Primary in Long Eaton, Derbyshire. We learn a lot from each other and share many ideas.

It's really vital that parents views are represented in school, but also that as parents we support the school in upholding their values and vision. I'm a Project Manager with experience in Finance, Social Housing and IT and hopefully I'll bring some of this experience to my governors role.
