Reporting an Absence
If your child is unable to come into school, please can you call the office before registration at 8:45am on each, and every subsequent day. Once you have informed the school office, a message will be passed on to the class teacher.
If you do not inform us of your child’s absence, we will give a first day of absence response call, asking why your child is absent.
If your child has a medical appointment during the school day, again please call the office to inform them and advise whether or not your child will require a dinner. Please also provide the school office with a copy of the appointment letter.
Please try to make appointments, wherever possible, outside of the school day as it does cause disruption to the children’s day.
Please note that for sickness or diarrhoea the current guidelines laid down by the Health Protection Agency state that children should not return to school for 48 hours after the final episode (and should not swim for 2 weeks after the last episode). Please comply with these guidelines as sickness and diarrhoea spread very easily in the classroom environment.
